During this nation's worst natural disaster, food banks across the country have been
called upon by America's Second Harvest, the Nation's Food Bank Network, to
participate in a nationwide effort to help the victims of the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina.
At present the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, along with other charitable
organizations are encouraging individuals and businesses to donate money to the
relief efforts rather than food or supplies. A financial donation is the most effective
way to assist in providing necessary supplies and services.
