Stuff The Bus Delivers Thousands of Pounds of Food

image Star 93.3’s annual event to raise food and funds to help support The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley by filling school buses with donations raised at area Stop & Shop supermarkets was once again a huge success. Nearly 14,000 pounds of food was generously stuffed into 11 buses proving just how caring the wonderful members of our community really are. An additional $2801.00 was also raised. When all that food reached The Food Bank, over 60 volunteers showed up to help unload the buses so that the food can reach the tables of those in need for the holiday. Giving is the best part of Thanksgiving. Thank you all, for all you do!  image

Cornwall Central High School held a Cross Country Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 19th. The event is a 3 mile cross country course, with an optional 1 mile run/walk on the school track.  Proceeds benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. Raffles, baked goods and t-shirts were sold to raise additional funds. Ben Rodd, the captain of the Cornwall High School cross-country team stopped by The Food Bank to drop off the check and food donation from the Turkey Trot. “The First Annual Cornwall Cross Country Turkey Trot was a huge success!  Fifty participants came and raced the trails around the Cornwall Central High School campus on a beautiful Saturday morning,” said Rodd.  The event raised nearly $1100 and a generous food donation.
Thanks to all who participated and we hope to see you again next year.
