White-Collar Workers Join Crowd Straining Food Banks

image According to an article in Bloomberg Magazine, the portion of college-degree holders in New York who said they had difficulty affording food increased to 30 percent in 2011 from 24 percent in the previous year. In the past year, corporate dismissals have left middle- class and white-collar workers stranded from the job market, causing many to seek public assistance and help from food charities.
